wees A Day to Remember It was sunshine and smiles all afternoon at the Oak Hall Care Home Open Day. held near the end of June. We felt very honoured to have a visit from The High Sherif of Surrey. Mrs Bridget Biddell, who chatted to residents and visitors. Bridget said, "What an amazing place. Such a caring and happy atmosphere and wonderful premises. in the beautiful Surrey woods The Royal School treated us to musical and drama performances by their very talented pupils while local musician Kevin Jacot was a roving minstrel. The kitchen team cooked up a storm and we all enjoyed the wide array of cakes and cream teas. Tea and coffee was available but, on such a sunny day, the Pimms was far more popular. Local artist Zoe Oliver led an activity where young and old daubed paint on six large canvasses which depict an abstract painting of the Devil's Punch Bowl: the finished work will be displayed at Oak Hall Stars of the show were Heavy Horses, Maisie and Bea. Their visit had been arranged in memory of a former resident who had been Secretary of the Southern Counties Heavy Horse Association for many years. Mary would have loved to have seen them, with their plaited manes, while they were paraded around our peaceful grounds; they truly made this a day to remember for all ages.
